Happy Easter

Easter, Passover, Spring, no matter what your religious background is, this time of year always brings the promise of new beginnings. The trees are in full bloom here in San Francisco with tiny new leaves popping out everywhere you look. It certainly marks a new beginning for Carly, who is celebrating her 15 month birthday today and starting her second week of tumor free living. She continues to sleep most of the day, but it seems like a purposeful healing sleep and she looks very peaceful. She nursed for the first time since her surgery today, a great step forward and a perfect Easter gift for Christa.

Love, Brad

Brad, Christa and Carly,

You don't know me -- I'm an online, across-the-continent friend of Nicci's -- but I follow your blog entries and rejoice with each step forward. My son is 3 and part of his evening ritual is wishing those in need well by name. Carly's name is often on his list. I know you know you are held and loved even by strangers, but today seemed a good day to speak up and give you an example of just that. Best wishes to your whole family. You are loved.

this is one time that I feel like I don't know what to say. The situation speaks for itself. Oh, Carly, you amazing little bundle of peaceful life. I can't stop crying and this time the tears feel so good. Brad and Christa, here's a big hug to you both.

happy 15 month birthday to Carly!we love reading the words "tumor-free" and "new beginnings"! It's good that she's getting all the rest her little body needs and it's just amazing that Christa was able to nurse her. I know the effort it takes to continue producing and providing breastmilk during those times when you can't nurse, and it's yet another tremendously impressive sign of Christa's dedication to Carly. You are both such wonderful parents, hope you two can get some rest, as well!
Love to you all!,

Dear Brad & Krista-
This is Kim, Laurel's sister. Your little Carly has been in my thoughts and prayers throughout this ordeal. I am rejoicing with the good news that the tumor is removed! The photo with the bunny is precious and, she is adorable. Easter is a time of renewal and, I know that this will be the case for little Carly as she heals.
I am praying for many blessings upon you all.
Kim
