As you can see from the picture, Carly's cute smile is back in effect. Despite the lump on her head and some teething pain, she is a real trooper and feeling good for much of the day.
We spoke with neurosurgery yesterday and learned that Dr. Gupta was not available this week. We were given the option of either waiting until next Wednesday for the shunt operation, or having one of his colleagues perform the operation this week. Since he is familiar with Carly we are planning on waiting until next week, but we will be following up with them to make sure that the fluid isn't increasing the pressure in her ventricles. We should know for sure tomorrow.
Love,
Brad

Papa's birthday was made when he opened the blog this AM and got a big smile from Carly!
Carly looks great - so happy. She made me smile as soon as I opened up the blog this morning. Have a great day. Dennis and Kathy
What a gorgeous smile to brighten our morning! We're constantly thinking about all of you. Hugs from the East side.

What a great smile! Thinking of all of you guys and hoping for good news for Carly! Love, Sue
Glad to see her pretty smile. Try Hyland's homeopathic teething tablets for the teething pain. They really do work.

So nice to see such a great smile on Carly!! Thinking about you guys down here in so-cal...
Brad and Family,
Don't know if you remember us...we're the Berry's who watched you and your brother Andy when you were much younger (maybe 10 and 12 years old or so...) a couple of times...while your parents went away for business travels. We were at Purdue 1983-1988...and brought Sandra to your house where you and Andy were the first ones to witness her sit up at 6 months.
Anyway, we've kept in touch with your dad and mom a little bit over the years and your dad sent us your blog this week and has been keeping us posted.
We are hoping and praying for you and your family that all will turn out good. Always remember that we adults worry and fret because we know so much, but Carly looks smiley and happy and that's what counts. It's pretty serious what she faces but you're doing everything you can for her and she couldn't have better parents to make the important decisions for her.
Who knows why such things happen...not for us to speculate but what a blessing to have this wonderful little girl! She looks adorable.
Best regards,
Kathleen and Martin Berry
